Imogen Cameron Genesis Chp. 3

Imogen and Tony hid, but they were astonished by the gigantic size of the basement. It had thousands of drones, thousands of guns, thousands of fist-sized circular bombs, tanks, aircraft, and even missiles. Imogen wasn’t shocked just because of this, but he was shocked because every single one of the weapons had the logo of M1SSIle. Tony quickly took the pictures of the basement, and they left the closed school. During their ride back, Tony asked Imogen, “Imo, maybe we should tell this to the police.” Imogen replied, “A two guys who just graduated from college found out where all the terrorists are. It's not that the police can't catch them because they don't know this, but it could be because someone is disturbing them and preventing them from taking action. I’ll first talk with my dad and tell my dad that there is a betrayer in our company.”

The next day, Imogen went to his dad’s office to tell him everything he found out. His dad’s secretary told him to wait at his office because his dad is having a meeting right now. Imogen sat down on the sofa and tried to organize what he is going to tell his dad. But suddenly, a fundamental question went through his mind. “If I found out all of this by myself, shouldn’t my dad already know?” He looked around his father’s office. It was so clean; everything was in perfect cleanness, perfect place, and in perfect order. But there was one book on the shelf that was turned upside down. Imogen took out the book and opened it, and there he found a car key. When he took the car key, the bookshelf opened, and there was an elevator hidden behind the bookshelf. Imogen went inside the elevator and pressed the basement button. He was so surprised that there was a place like this in his father’s office. When Imogen arrived at the basement, there was a car. There was only one road, so he just drove through that road. He drove and drove, and finally, he reached the end. In the end, there was a big door, and to open it, he had to authenticate using his father’s face, eyes, and fingerprint. As soon as Imogen got out of the car, he smelled something. The smell of gunpowder and perfume mixed with the smell of an old building. Imogen told himself, “It’s the school…the closed school basement.” He got scared and knew he had to go back faster before his dad came. He drove back the same way he came and went up to his dad’s office. He quickly put every back and sat down on the sofa. Just with a few seconds difference, his father came back from the meeting and smiled at him with a lovely smile like always. But today, it struck differently for Imogen.

Hanson asked Imogen, “What was the thing you wanted to tell me so much that you even came to my office?” Imogen broke a cold sweat and said, “I…I just came here to see you, dad. You have been too busy. I just wanted to see your face. Now I saw your face…I...I should go now.” Hanson burst out into laughter and said, “Hahaha, you missed me, didn’t you? Alright, tomorrow I’ll go back to the house, and let’s have dinner together Imogen.” Imogen just smiled awkwardly and quickly walked out.

Imogen’s hands were shaking, and as soon as he went back to his house, he drank water like a guy who didn’t have any sip of water for a year. Tony was the only one Imogen could believe, so Imogen told Tony what he saw at his father’s office. Tony told Imogen, “Hey Imo, I don’t get what you’re saying. Do you mean that your father is the betrayer? I mean, it's Hanson Cameron, it’s the one who everyone loves and is counting on. He is the hero of England who made England’s military great again. You’re telling me he is the guy behind all the terrorist attacks?” Imogen replied, “I can’t believe it too. I have to make sure. Tony lets follow him after he’s done with his work. If it’s true, he would be going to the terrorist basement after he is done with his work. If he goes there, it's sure that he is behind all of this.”

Imogen and Tony waited in the nearby hotel. But even after 10 pm, his father didn’t come out. So, they decided to go inside his office. But there was a problem. A secretary was securing the door. Imogen had an idea. There is a vent that connects the first-floor stairway to his dad’s office. It was made for safety. Imogen and Tony went down to the first-floor stairway and started climbing the vent. Once they reached Hanson’s office, they could hear the voices from the office. It was Hanson’s voice, but no one knew the other person’s voice. Hanson said to the stranger, “5 days left until we attack the government building. I’ll intentionally turn off the security shield, and you guys will shoot the building using our missiles.” The stranger replied, “Yes sir.” Imogen was sure that his father was the leader of the terrorist group. But first, Imogen and Tony had to stop the attack Hanson was planning. They had 5 more days to stop the attack.

The only way to stop the attack was to kill Hanson. Imogen cried all night long, screamed, and cursed the god. The next day, Hanson came early to eat dinner with Imogen. Imogen brought his gun and kept it in his pants, and he told his father that he wanted to eat dinner in his father’s room, only him and his father. Hanson’s room in the house was gigantic and had a big table that they could eat, but the biggest reason why Imogen wanted to eat at Hanson’s room was that his room had a system where sound insulation was possible. They sat down and started eating the food. As soon as the sound insulation system worked, Imogen went straight into the point. “Dad, why did you do it? Why did you start a terrorist group?” said Imogen. Hanson stopped moving for a second and replied, “Let’s talk after the dinner, son.” Imogen stood up and shouted, held his gun, and aimed at his father, “Dad! You killed hundreds and hundreds of people in England, and you’re planning to kill all the government officers! Tell me…” Imogen’s hand and voice were shaking. Hanson leisurely went to his desk and started writing a note. He folded and put it in his pocket and said, “Imogen, I know you’re going to kill me.” Imogen started sweating. Hanson walked closer and closer to Imogen. “Before I graduated from my college, I went to a famous fortune-teller’s shop just for fun. She told me that I have an ambitious dream. But just before I reach my dream, one of my family members will kill me. I knew it was going to be you when you were born. All my families died before you were even born, and my last family, your mom, died the day after giving birth to you. If there is a guy who will kill me to stop my evil and an ambitious dream, I’m happy that it’s my son.” Imogen ran to his dad and hugged him. “Dad let’s stop this right here and let’s fix things together…” Hanson whispered with a gentle voice to calm Imogen down, “Son, the fortune-teller was right every single thing except for one thing. I’ve reached my dream already. My dream wasn’t to build a company, nor was it to make a terrorist group that everybody would be scared of, nor was it to make a lot of money, but it was to give birth to a baby, do my very best to make that baby feel loved, and to let him be a greater and a better man than me. I see you now, I’ve reached my dream. I can’t stop myself, Imogen, this is my last command, my will, my advice, and my request as a father… Kill me.”

Imogen held his gun and aimed at his father, and said, “Dad, I’m sorry.” Hanson smiled and replied, “Imogen, it’s ok…it’s ok…whatever you do, I still love you, my son.” Imogen shot his father and crumbled on his knee and started to cry. A paper dropped from Hanson’s pocket. Imogen took it out and read it. It was written: “Dear the workers in my house, call the police after 5 hours Imogen leaves from the house. Don’t you ever dare show resentment toward my only son. He’ll be a better person than me. When it’s time, he’ll come back, and when he does, treat him the same as before. This is my last word, and oh… Keep the house clean.” Imogen put the paper back into his father’s pocket.

Imogen called Tony and told him, “Tony, within 1 day, the police will investigate you. When they ask about me, tell them that I was always angry at my father for not giving me his company. Tell them that I hated him so much that I often said I want to kill him.” Tony asked, “What do you mean Imogen?” Imogen replied, “Tony just listens to me for now. I will put all the information about the terrorist groups on top of my father’s desk so that the people will think that my father found out all the information about them and was ready to attack them. But just before the attack happened, a crazy son, me, who always wanted money, fame, and his own father’s company, got drunk and started arguing with his dad, and impulsively killed his dad. I’ll erase every data that showed the relationship between my father and the terrorist group within five hours and I’ll leave England.” Tony asked again, “Imogen, why are you doing this? This will kill all your career, your dreams, and you’ll lose everything you have.” Imogen told Tony, “The public, the people, need something or someone to believe during difficult times. My father was the one everybody believed in and relied on. He was respected and called the Hero of England. Their dream and hope about a hero will be shattered if the public finds out my dad was behind all the terrorist attacks. I can’t let them see that the one who they used to call him hero was an evil guy. I’ll be the evil guy because sometimes, the truth isn’t good enough… Sometimes, people deserve more. Sometimes, people deserve to have their faith rewarded.”
